Principles of Person-Centered Living:
· Assurance of individuality, choice, privacy, dignity, respect, independence
· A sense of being part of a community and connected to the larger community
· A home environment in which to reside
· A culture of mutual respect among all members of the community – residents, families, staff, volunteers, administrators, etc.
· A mutually nurturing and empowering culture to optimize the well-being of all members of the community
These principles will be appropriately applied for consumers living in the community and in assisted living.
